Relationship Manager (Former Employee) - Bahrain - January 3, 2021
No recognition of work.. forced extensive hours without any awards .. no job security as the company push out employees on rainy days when an employee expects maximum support.

Very large MNC in the MENA with Bad management
Anonymous Operations (Current Employee) - Bahrain - September 2, 2018
AMEX is a Global company operating as a franchise in the MENA region, however current management of the company suffers terribly with very inadequate compensation schemes and benefits, no career progress what so ever, the company is plagued by nepotism (wasta in this region) & is very staggered within
Main positive point in this Company is the people whom you work with which most are genuine good colleagues
Cons
Cheap benefits for an MNC

rude bosses. work load doesnt match pay
Representative (Former Employee) - Manama - July 5, 2018
ive worked in amex in 3 departments for 8 years, the team leaders were very rude and the workload doesnt match the pay and low increments. rude that some restrict staff going to the toilet!!!!
All the ones that talked kindly didnt last 3 years and indeed you cant. all the old staff will tell you they take you meat and throw you bone, and those that received a package and early retirement couldnt be happy their torment was over
note that the managers receive 3500-4000BD monthly while staff 500BD and 3-4% annual increment and be prepared to read 200-300 emails a day or answer 75 calls per person per day
Pros
you learn life the hard way
Cons
rude team leaders. workload doesnt match pay and increments

abusive bosses. amount of work doesnt match salary
representative (Former Employee) - bahrain - July 5, 2018
ive worked in amex for 8 years in 3 units. the team leaders were very rude and the amount of work does not match the salary and low increments. in fact, several team leaders restrict going to the toilet!!!!.
and while the managers receive 3500-4000BD salary the staff get 500BD. all the old staff say they here they take you meat and throw you bone and this is what theyve done to me after being the only staff in my department for 7 months. they will use you and abuse you 8n the worst manner. ask all employees that have been there for 5 years, all of them wish they could leave
Pros
you learn life the hard way
Cons
rude team leaders. salary and increments dont match the high workload

Representative) (Customer Service Department) (Former Employee) - Manama - April 23, 2017
I have really enjoyed being a part of AMEX for short period.
AMEX was a great place to work with great team and fun environment.
The only reason that I have left Amex for was the timing issue and I was under a temporary contract.

Challenging job and excellent work culture
Business Analyst / IT Support Analyst (Former Employee) - Bahrain - July 17, 2013
The work environment is very good. Co-workers are helpful. I joined the organization with good experience on the domain but no experience on the application. The coworkers assisted me a lot. But within 2 weeks I was able to deliver output on my own.
The management supports individuals to a great extent.
The most difficult part of the job was to learn new systems on you own because there is not much documentation available.
