Overall a very nice place to work. Friendly and helpful coworkers. Work can be mundane, but such is the case with any job. Very understanding management, but since it is a huge company, once issues extend beyond your office, it can be very difficult to get them resolved.
Pros
Lunch and learns, nice coworkers, nice environment, good opportunity to learn
Cons
Large company can make you feel inconsequential

A good company to work for. Most managers were effective and supportive, some were distant and not so supportive. The office had groups of old school types, working direct for clients was more pleasant.

Great people. Great opportunities. Great working culture with a focus on safety both at work and at home. The downturn in the markets made them lose a lot of great people.

What I liked most at Jacobs is its culture of caring. You feel instantly integrated in a worldwide multicultural family that makes you feel safe and at home. The management is very supportive and encourages you to grow within the company based on your talent and motivation. I also liked the openness to relocation to other Jacobs offices around the world if this suits the employee's personal life and willingness to discover other countries.
I had a blast working at Jacobs and would definitely be part of the family again if the opportunity comes up.

Main problem within Jacobs is luck of culture / advancement / belonging, no cense of integrated team, sporadic management inputs, and a complete absence of communication skills and channels between upper management and "working bees"

A very well organized company. The alliances built with many clients reflect the positive role the company maintained in the industry. I would be happy to take on another role with this organization. There are many places to go with the organization as large as it is.

JACOBS is the best place I've ever worked! I say this because I'm challenged each day, motivated to do my best and feel supported by my management team. It's a joy coming to work each day!

Great workplace with multiple challenging projects. Management has an open door policy and is always willing to help mentor and help guide on how to grow within the company.

Worst Place to work. They hire young "professionals" who have not idea what they are doing......and then after they have worked there for a year they make them your manager.
Pros
Pay is "ok"
Cons

Jacobs is cut throat and you will only be a number that generates revenue. Once the project is over, you are too regardless of performance. Placing people after projects is done within 30 days of projects ending.

After going through the gruelling interview stage, I joined the graduate scheme as a mechanical engineer in 2012. They promise you all sorts of training but it never happened. HR do nothing for your career. Your manager owns your career! You formally progress through the organisation almost entirely at his/her will. Yearly performance appraisals are not worth the paper they are written on. I have had to fight for every single job opportunity and my salary hasn't been increased from the graduate salary in 4 years. It's a horrible company to start your career in. I regret joining Jacobs so early. If you have already attained a height in your career, then you can consider joining. There are a lot of middle managers who have held their positions for far too long and don't believe in anyone succeeding them. All they truly care about is safety. Not people.
Pros
Flexible work hours
Cons
Bad management system

You work on different project teams over your career. Make many work relationships that are long lasting. Strong safety culture. Projects are large and main objective on engineering side is to issue engineering work packages for civil, mechanical, electrical, control systems, and piping. Learn technical concepts, people skills, and team skills.
Pros
Safety
Cons
Projects come and go with oil prices

Originally was a fun place to work with company sports, happy hours and time off, which promoted a good work/life balance. There was support and growth opportunities.

However, more recently, there are few mentors and little promoting within the company. There is little support and few opportunities for payed overtime.
Pros
Good people
Cons
Healthcare, red tape, politics
