Fun workplace but low and inconsistent pay

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Managers were all awesome to work with, they cared about their employees and were hard workers themselves. Overall a very fun job but the low and inconsistent pay for drivers led me to search for other jobs. Would highly recommend to kids in high school (for in store employment)

Pros

Great managers, fun place to work, very nice owner

Cons

Low and inconsistent pay

Run as fast as you can from that place

I would 1000/1000 not recommend working there or even eating there. They hire a bunch of gross kids. They never wash there hands. Management is full of pervs who like children. Please keep your children away from there.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Pervs in management

Poor Management

Overall its an easy job with flexibility. Very fast paced when busy. Great customers and some co-workers. However, management is terrible. Very unorganized and not cohesive. Lack of structure and poor managerial skills. There is potential there, but there needs to be guidance.

Pros

Discount on food, Flexible hours

Cons

Poor Management

Good Place to Work! Mostly

Its an easy job, good tips, great customer service experience and a flexible schedule. Despite the title, there's a decent bit of answering the phones, taking orders, and making pizzas involved, but nothing too unmanageable. Management is iffy in recent days, which is my only complaint.

Not a great place to work

This job not only has terrible managers but the district manager is even worse. They don’t care about your well being and if you don’t have someone covered for your shift it’s on you and only you, when it should be the managers job to find coverage not you! If you don’t have the day off and your car brakes, sucks to be you you still have to go in. Long story short, they don’t care about you. Only the money they get. But the job it’s self is really good. Tips for delivering driving is about average ( $40-50). When your not doing a delivery you do dishes, do dough, or fold boxes. But other then the managers the job is a great job for people that need either a side job or a first job.

Pros

An ok job

Cons

Managers are terrible!

An excellent place to work

It is a job that will treat you fairly and you get out what you put in. It is a QSR restaurant but the opportunity to advance is always there given work ethic and determination.

There is next to no professionalism at this location.

This was a very fun job however, the level of professionalism is subpar to put it nicely.I was hired to become an assistant manager at the location. This is how the training went. Onboarding was simple enough. There was a learning curb on the registers. When I became proficient, it was time for kitchen training. However, the person that oversaw my training was VERY inexperienced with the kitchen. In short I was told to shadow someone in the kitchen. Not a set person, to shadow. If you understand how a kitchen works. You can't just shadow a person without getting in the way. Then I was "let go" via text message.

Manager is low down nasty

Would not recommend working here. The manager are rude. There is a bunch of drama at the job. Pay is not good. Doesn’t have anything to drink for employees.

Pros

none

Didn’t like the management

Decent tips and work but the management always expected me to work even when there was nothing going on. Decent high school job but I’d recommend other pizza places to deliver for.

Fun but bad franchise owners

Management is… usually nice people but horrible managers so you end up with a lot of coworkers who don’t do their job & don’t get reprimanded further than “you need to do better.” If you happen to do your job they will expect you to pick up the slack of the bad employees that they don’t fire for some reason

Pros

Tasks are easy

Cons

Management doesn’t manage

Good starter part-time, but has it’s cons

It was a good first part-time job for me, but overall, not a company I would stay with for a long period of time. I felt that I was over-relied on by the management and that many of the other employees who were under the age of 18 were obligated to do the work while management did not engage or did little to help. No breaks were given and multiple paycheck mistakes were made.

Pros

Good starter part-time job

Cons

Lack of management and disorganized

Its chill

The work culture has a chill, relaxed vibe. It can get busy during weekends or when it rains. Also, you do more than just delivery. You make dough, take out trash, wash dishes, etc. It could be hard to find a task to do sometimes and tips are random. I do recommend this as a first job if you have a car and 18 years old or older

Stale work environment

Mostly felons or high schoolers working here. Not a friendly atmosphere. One worker does it all while the rest get to play around. No accountability for actions of crew. Severe favouritism from managers towards the high schoolers. Adult employees be warned at Marcos you do not matter.

Pros

No experience needed

Cons

Horrible management, no work life balance

Good place to work, would not stay long term

The location was right across the street from the local Highschool so we got plenty busy at times. But it became very chaotic and disorganized very quickly and the manager would be pushy at times in a bad way. Promised great benefits upon signup and under-delivered in my opinion.

Eh

It is a typical delivery driver job, the pay you below minimum wage while you're on the road. The worst part is driving a long distance away and not receiving a tip.

Employment Experience

Former employee here, haven't stayed for too long. I had prior experiences with in-store and supervisory positions from various companies. It took a month to really get a response from an interview to get into this industry again.I started my first two weeks really well as a new hire. The culture was smooth and work pace was fantastic with great care to the products. On the second week or so, on one of the nights, I had permission to leave a little early a few hours into my shift, to remedy a bad ear infection that swelled my canal, and the day after that, I had a private phone call around the evening about my immediate family having Covid-19 with one of them being an elderly parent, I had permission from my general manager to clock out for first and 30 minutes early from my end shift on the second time (I was closing and already did the to-do list procedures with a group of three members). For context, I'm the only member of my family who was capable of taking care. I immediately asked my Manager if I can fulfill this despite my conditions, they were okay with it as long as I made updates and transparency about the situation. I did so the next few days but not overwhelmingly. I contacted my store when things at home weren't so good with Covid-19, I was directed to the assistant who advised me to quarantine for the week and come back with a negative test before confirming the ability to work, nothing else was expanded on with prime or other procedures and company policy on the regard of shared households having Covid-19 or the Covid-19 itself except some of the mandates/issues -

Pros

Good environment, Good place to start working

Cons

Management needs more cemented transparency, Store policies in writing aren't always available.

Easy job but hard on car

The job is pretty easy but it’s really hard on your vehicle, as with any delivery job. Sometimes you’re spending more on gas and repairs than you make. It just depends on how tips are at any point in time and they really fluctuate.

Weekend rush

New owners the pay 56 hours take home $567 not good. Before they came one of my checks 54 hours and take home was $723. It was good to meet the workers and the customer's.

Valuable experience

I learned a lot about customer service and communication through this job. I think it is a great starting point for young adults looking for a first job. Some might discourage you because the base pay isn’t great and it is tip dependent, but tips come way more often than not and are usually decent in amount.
