Fun workplace but low and inconsistent pay

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Managers were all awesome to work with, they cared about their employees and were hard workers themselves. Overall a very fun job but the low and inconsistent pay for drivers led me to search for other jobs. Would highly recommend to kids in high school (for in store employment)

Pros

Great managers, fun place to work, very nice owner

Cons

Low and inconsistent pay

Bad people

Terrible place to work, pays not good. They tell you one thing then do another. Make you deliver when you’re not a driver. Foods ok but they don’t care about management

Fun and fast paced

Generally, I look for an open minded staff when it comes to working, and this place definitely has earned that title. It has its gripes as every other place would, but as long as you do what you're supposed to, and you can work well with others, this place is great.

Pros

Free dinners, nice folks

Cons

No healthcare, poor pay

Fun and Easy

Very easy entry level job that was very fun to work at. The people there were like family to me which made it hard to leave. There were a couple poor managers and workers but that is to be expected anywhere.

They didn't give me enough hours

They didn't even give us breaks , the worst part about it they don't pay us that much , and they don't even give us that much hours for use to pay are bills or get food for are families. we have to get at least two more job just to survive.

Experience heavily dependent on managers

Like any job, managers make or break it when it comes to the day to day experience. Because Marcos franchises out their stores, it’s a real roll of the dice per restaurant. My experience wasn’t great. Drivers with poor attitude were hired at my location. Always leaving right after the dinner rush due to a different emergency every weekend, leaving me with dishes and other nightly cleaning. When brought up to managers, nothing changed. I quit after I had a night where the other drivers called out on the busiest night of my career working there. Dozens of orders in the red with only me driving. Had to stay hours late to clean the mess at the store. I’d imagine I had the worse luck out of most but just be wary working for a franchised restaurant

Good place to work

Nice people and good environment to work, you can get raises if you do well. You learn how to make pizza which is pretty cool. Also you get a free medium every shift.

How was it?

Terrible. No one shows up on time you have to stay over because the shift managers never wanna show up on time because they’re the general manager’s friend.

Pros

Employee meal

Cons

Everything eles

Overbearing bosses

Owners were paranoid and installed cameras to watch us and make sure we weren't slacking off. Lots of gossip from both coworkers and manager. Manager was friendly and worked hard, but also inappropriate with some coworkers. Younger teenage coworkers had a bad attitude and were allowed to slack off, curse, yell, cry, etc.Boss tried to make me stay late every shift, and didn't understand why I would want consistency in scheduling instead of that.

Pros

free food if there are leftovers, employee discount, easy training

Cons

stay late often, dinner rush is stressful, paranoid overbearing bossess

Decent

This was a decent place to work at. When I was there the staff was overall friendly and knew how to work together for the most part never made too much with tips

easy job

this is a good first job. the work environment can get a little overwhelming. everyone is young for the majority. the owners were a bit (very) aggravating though.

Great

I worked there for a year. I made deliveries and most of my money came from tips. It was a better opportunity before they started charging a delivery fee.

Shift Lead and Driver

I have been working for Marcos’s since 2020. I hardly ever got raises and even as a shift manager I only make 12 dollars an hour. Whenever I deliver pizzas, I get paid 4.75 hourly when on the road and 2.50 for each delivery I take. It isn’t really worth it to work at marco’s. The only reason I stayed for so long is because I love my coworkers and it was my high school job.

Pros

Good atmosphere

Cons

Company is only about their money & numbers as well as unfair wages

Ok introductory job

This job is a decent introduction to the work field. It was my first ever job that I got in high-school. Wasn’t to hard but certainly wasn’t very easy. Rush hour on weekends will probably be the most stressful hours of your life so be prepared. They pay was also not that great, especially for the amount of work they expect out of you. However besides those couple things it can be an okay job.

It’s okay

Low pay and not much benefits but it’s good when starting out or for teenagers. You have to basically everything though the work is not worth the pay.

Eh mid would find somewhere else

Mid very very mid. Wouldn’t recommend management was a mess and you do way more than your typical required workload. You’ll def be used. Maybe not for the things you’re getting paid for but used for sure !

Late open and early close so no early or late hours

You do a lot of manual labor without the compensation to match it, You are made to feel appreciated though. You do a lot of lifting and using your hands, it gets very old, you spend all day doing the same thing over and over.

Pros

50% off what you eat

Cons

No breaks, unless you smoke and very short rare then

Good

It was great when I first started but now it's not so great and we are mostly working with two to three people. Also I pay has been cut. That's the only thing that's bad around here and help

Good Company

Great company values. Good pay and life work balance. Management is good to work for and the products are amazing. Worked for Corporate Stores and franchisees.
