Fun workplace but low and inconsistent pay

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Managers were all awesome to work with, they cared about their employees and were hard workers themselves. Overall a very fun job but the low and inconsistent pay for drivers led me to search for other jobs. Would highly recommend to kids in high school (for in store employment)

Pros

Great managers, fun place to work, very nice owner

Cons

Low and inconsistent pay

A good job.

What is the best part of working at the company?I made decent money and I loved working there. It was a very easy and comfortable environment to work in.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Rush hours it could get over whelping during lunch and dinner. I hated having to do the side work after your shift. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Comfortable and clean and Iade decent money for short hoursWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?I worked 4 or 5 hours and came home with anywhere between $30-$100.00 in tips plus I got paid by the hour. So I had a check every two weeks to look forward to.

It's a job

It's more of a part time position. The environment was mellow and co workers were chilled. The daily activity of delivery driver was transporting food items from pizza shop to customers location, accepting cash or card payments from customer to bring back to pizza shop, and stock merchandise in shop and clean areas or shop plus making pizza boxes.

Employees are respectful of each other and guests, and have a passion for excellence.

What is the best part of working at the company? No drama! All of the employees are respectful of each other, and always willing to help each other to make sure that the guests food is prepared correctly and that nothing is missing from the order before the delivery driver leaves the restaurant! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? It’s a bit challenging, closing with different managers every night because they each perform their closing procedures at different times. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Very respectful of each other, and always helping with training even though is there is no formal training manual. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Washing dishes, delivering pizzas, taking orders over the phone and through the drive-through and cleaning

it provides a paycheck

minimal amount of work expected from management. having a good work ethic is not appreciated. management makes excuses for the low performers and have no expectations out of these workers.

Pros

free shift meal for 6+ hrs

Cons

back stabbing coworkers. no set rules for what is expected from workers on make line, cut line etc. management was too limp wristed to confront lazy employees.

Misplaced prioritied

This is a weird environment. On some shifts they play the radio so loud you can't hear the customer well enough to assist them without making them repeat themselves and it's really embarrassing when customers come into the store. It's also almost impossible to communicate with each other and it shows by orders getting passed up or people cooking last in/first out. Kids come to work with no hats and management let's them work like it's not the law to wear one. The managers are terribly insecure and threatened in their positions and make decisions based upon that insecurity. They do work extremely hard and if they are judged on their ability to get prep work done they will get five stars. If they will be judged on their ability to effect a suitable professional working environment and maximize performance to provide the best product with the best service and increase sales and profits I bet business remains completely stagnant. Nobody wants to work in chaos and nobody should EVER feel the need to apologize for that. The customers feel this chaos.

Pros

Always something to do

Cons

Stoned teenager atmosphere

I enjoyed working for Marco's Pizza. The store I worked had a team with fantastic personalities. They were all helpful during my training and worked well together. Pay was fair and I made good tips.

It surely becomes alright. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy because I was a delivery driver.

its ok

I have been working here for about 4 years while in school. Not a terrible place to work, interesting people to work with, flexible hours, but you are mainly just in and out of the store making deliveries.

Overbearing bosses

Owners were paranoid and installed cameras to watch us and make sure we weren't slacking off. Lots of gossip from both coworkers and manager. Manager was friendly and worked hard, but also inappropriate with some coworkers. Younger teenage coworkers had a bad attitude and were allowed to slack off, curse, yell, cry, etc.Boss tried to make me stay late every shift, and didn't understand why I would want consistency in scheduling instead of that.

Pros

free food if there are leftovers, employee discount, easy training

Cons

stay late often, dinner rush is stressful, paranoid overbearing bossess

Good for a part time gig

All hands are on deck working here. I was hired as a driver but you are going to be cleaning making pizzas, ordering food all with very little training. I did not mind doing the other duties but wished that was explained in the interview or at least in the job description. The workplace culture was terrible as well. The employees were very stand offish, they rarely ever spoke to me unless they were telling me to deliver pizza or make pizza a certain way. They were extremely short staffed, they had me delivering pizza for 5-6 orders without ever properly training me. Management was 'okay' but I only saw him like twice. When I did see him,he was too preoccupied to actually 'train' me to do things outside of the job description. I love Marco's pizza as a restaunt but def not as an employee.

Pros

Flexibility & tips

Cons

No training, low morale, high turnover

Fast pace sometimes, usually slow pace and always washing dishes

I was the number 1 driver according to stats and never called in. Being a driver there is NO room for growth. They pay minimum wage I Ran thru 3 cars

Pros

Occasionally free pizza and discount

Cons

Mileage on car, bad management, greedy management

Flexible and thats it

3 years and I still haven't received proper training. Good at your job? Great, now you can do the job of 5 other people. Cover shifts too often? Great, now you'll only be scheduled 3 days in case somebody calls out so you don't go into overtime. Aww, what do you mean you don't want to cover anymore? We really really need your help :( Not considered for a pay raise because of the risk of overtime, yet my store falls apart when I'm gone for too long. I'm just supposed to be a delivery driver :) Unlimited time off is great I guess?
