Very fast paced at times can be fun if you have the right people working with you.

A typical work days is coming in clocking in and getting straight to work. I learned a lot like how to handle money and stressful situations. Management was always a 50/50 the managers were nice but if the GM was in a bad mood everyone knew it and everyone could feel it in the atmosphere.

Pros

free meal

Not a good place to work

Very bad communication between managers and team members. Very rude and unprofessional managers. An unprofessional restaurant overall. Low hygiene standards, etc.

Cool place

The environment is very laid back, just do what you’re suppose to do. The management is nice and understanding. Am and Pm shifts so you’re not there the entire day unless you request to work longer. Honestly a very easy job with really nice people.

Pros

Owners in store, easy job duties, flexible hours, works with schooling schedule

Cool

It was alright it is a fast paced environment on the weekends but once you get used to the job and how it works you should be relatively fine is just basic stuff

Great workplace with awesome management.

Working at Marco's was overall a good experience. As long as you work hard & don't slack off, it's smooth sailing. The management were also extremely friendly & welcoming. It did get difficult during rush, especially since my location had a severe issue with being understaffed.

Pros

Free lunch, employee discounts, friendly management

Cons

Occasionally understaffed

Good starter job for entry-level applicants

You mostly get scheduled for dinner shifts, which can get busy on Fridays and Saturdays. Insiders make pizzas, wash dishes, stock the toppings line, cut pizzas, and cash out customers. Management made sure the store was clean and fully stocked every day, so we rarely ran out of things. We had weekly and monthly cleaning items to do when the store was slow. Not a bad first job for someone with no experience - they train you for 2 weeks before you start making food.

Pros

Helpful and supportive management & coworkers, training provided, 20% store discount

Cons

No breaks unless you work a 7 hour shift, Small store and loud oven made it hard to hear people

Fun job, low pay

The pay is horrible, but the work is easy. I always had a good time there, and I never had any complaints about work. However, I didn’t make nearly enough, and raises were few and far between.

Fun and fast paced

Generally, I look for an open minded staff when it comes to working, and this place definitely has earned that title. It has its gripes as every other place would, but as long as you do what you're supposed to, and you can work well with others, this place is great.

Pros

Free dinners, nice folks

Cons

No healthcare, poor pay

Fun and Easy

Very easy entry level job that was very fun to work at. The people there were like family to me which made it hard to leave. There were a couple poor managers and workers but that is to be expected anywhere.

Good

It was great when I first started but now it's not so great and we are mostly working with two to three people. Also I pay has been cut. That's the only thing that's bad around here and help

Chronic understaffing and minimum wage with no raises

It's a minimum wage job and your experience will mostly depend on who your manager is. Although, even good managers can't fix the high turnover rate of the industry.

Generally a good place to work

Marcos wouldn’t be so bad if the management actually cared about their employees and customers. Rather than coaching employees, management will scream at them in front of everyone. Yell at the customers.

Toxic Managment Practices

The few people who work in these stores are overall great people to work with. But you will be overworked, underpaid, and treated like garbage by the management. They will outright lie to you about everything from wages to hours. They will change your schedule mid-week (often less than 24-48 hours before the shift) without informing you. Worst pizza place to work for in town.

Pros

Nice co-workers, free meals, no early mornings

Cons

Dishonest and manipulative management. Stolen wages, verbal abuse, and much more.

Fun workplace environment but outdated rating

I haven't worked at Marco's for approximately 1 1/2 years, so take what I say with a grain of salt. The work environment was very friendly and understanding for the most part. I had the morning shift so things weren't nearly as hectic as near closing hours but the occasional school/work party. The training was fun and the staff were very patient. I don't know who works there now, but it was a great way for me to start in the workforce. I would have worked there longer if it weren't for me pursuing college full-time.

Pros

Free Lunches, Employee Fridge, Neighbor Work Mentality

Cons

No chairs, breaks discouraged, PTO request 2 weeks advance

Friendly and fun workplace

The workplace is very nice and friendly. The workflow is good and everyone is really nice. The scheduling is also very flexible as they do allow you to choose which times work best for you.

okay for a teen but awful for anyone 19+

everyone took way too long of a smoke break. It really felt like a popularity club during evening shifts. It took begging to go to day shift. Both shifts I ended up doing everyone's job. DM was an actual monster. Decent place for teens who need a splash of cash, but its not a livable wage.

Poor Management

Overall its an easy job with flexibility. Very fast paced when busy. Great customers and some co-workers. However, management is terrible. Very unorganized and not cohesive. Lack of structure and poor managerial skills. There is potential there, but there needs to be guidance.

Pros

Discount on food, Flexible hours

Cons

Poor Management

There is next to no professionalism at this location.

This was a very fun job however, the level of professionalism is subpar to put it nicely.I was hired to become an assistant manager at the location. This is how the training went. Onboarding was simple enough. There was a learning curb on the registers. When I became proficient, it was time for kitchen training. However, the person that oversaw my training was VERY inexperienced with the kitchen. In short I was told to shadow someone in the kitchen. Not a set person, to shadow. If you understand how a kitchen works. You can't just shadow a person without getting in the way. Then I was "let go" via text message.

Manager is low down nasty

Would not recommend working here. The manager are rude. There is a bunch of drama at the job. Pay is not good. Doesn’t have anything to drink for employees.

Pros

none
