Busy Environment
DRIVER (Former Employee) - Germantown, MD - October 28, 2019
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedVery stressful environment, give you too many stops to do with impossible times to complete them. Tell management about safety issues and was told "Just do it".Favoritism for certain drivers, while other drivers would have to pick up the slack and get double to triple the workload. Very unsafe work environment.

Not a place I would want to go back to work for.
Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Virginia - November 30, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? No Job security. No organization. Glass ceiling for women! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The males over my immediate dispatcher. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Not a good place for a female to advance. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Very stressful! Never went like it was supposed to go. Always drama.

Watch your back
Driver (Former Employee) - Grove City, OH - November 29, 2023
Management does not stand behind employees. If anyone accused the driver of anything they they take them at their word, never giving the employee a chance to defend themselves.

CDL Class A Driver (Former Employee) - Atlanta, GA - November 28, 2023
This company was pretty easy to work out. The only problem I had was the dispatch and management. They'll back the dispatchers every second. They get and and management was pretty much unhelpful. When it came down to your problems with them.

Technician (Former Employee) - Reno, NV - November 28, 2023
Depends on the location but some the overall experience was just depressing your mainly doing pms all day . The manager I had didn’t do anything for the employees just sat in the office all day vs the other shops where the manager was more proactive
Pros
Low to no management expectations
Cons
Not fasted paces and over all boring all day

Benefits
Rmt (Current Employee) - King of Prussia, PA - November 27, 2023
The benifits package is not the best, medical benefit is expensive, they offer short PTO and no sick days, they don’t offer any parental leave. Overall is not bad to work there

Once an industry leader, now is just living off the name and history.
T2, Technician level 2 (Former Employee) - Kentwood, MI - November 27, 2023
Management is largely filled with people keeping their heads down as they count the days until retirement and company shills that will lie to anyone and everyone to further their own interests. Ryder sells that we can fix anything in a bid to get new customers while Technician training is virtually nonexistent at many locations. We are supposed to have access to online training. Problem is our entire building ran off of one DSL internet line (1mb dl) and NO level of management seemed to understand what that meant. It means constant buffering and NO training. Then the tech gets blamed for training not being done! Our shop was in a large city, next to schools and a international airport. Cable and fiber options were available.
Pros
Most coworkers were great hard working people and a pleasure to work with.
Cons
Poor management, mediocre benefits, mediocre compensation, aging and/or sub par facilities and equipment.

Non productive typical company anymore.
Truck Driver Class A CDL (Former Employee) - Waynesboro, VA - November 26, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Pay check, easy job no paperwork. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Supervisor on first key is a moron . What is the work environment and culture like at the company? If they get rid of the ones who think there ceos in training or at least made sure the could do something besides butt kiss it be great. Good ol boy suck fest What is a typical day like for you at the company? Go to work. Wonder how the supervisor and a few of the drivers keep their jobs for doing nothing but complaining about everything. Get talked to about not pulling enough loads to cover the average when 3 drivers spend all shift under a desk.

Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Current Employee) - Joliet, IL - November 24, 2023
Job isn’t hard but have the mindset of finding something better. Management sucks specifically the Joliet location, I’d recommend it if you need a place to coast at for awhile until u find something better

fun place to work
Operations Manager Trainee (Current Employee) - La Vergne, TN - November 21, 2023
Overall Ryder is a great place to work. It's a dynamic environment, and bunch of positive people. I see myself working her long term. A typical day at work can be rough, but overall is not so bad. The management cares about the employees and so far so good. The harderst part of the job is getting up early in the morning and coming to work. The best part is, when you get to work is everything is straight foward and flowing well.
Pros
great benefits
Cons
short break
